Preschool

The First Friends Preschool  is organized and operated as a part of the total ministry of First Presbyterian Church, Huntsville, Alabama. Our mission is to provide a weekday early childhood Christian education program; to nurture children of First Presbyterian Church and other Christian congregations; to support the evangelistic effort of First Presbyterian Church to bring new families into the church membership; and to serve as a preparatory school for entrance into public or private kindergarten.

It is our sincere desire to provide a constructive, meaningful program for young children under the guidance of trained personnel in a Christian environment and to promote emotional, social, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth of each child.

Our program incorporates weekly enrichment sessions, with Bible teaching for 3 and 4 year olds, music for 1 through 4 year olds, and motor skills for 2 through 4 year olds. We follow the “Ready to Learn” pre-K curriculum in our 4-year-old classes, and consistently hear how well-prepared our “graduates” are when they enter kindergarten.

This ministry serves children between the ages of 4 months through 4 years. We offer classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Parents may opt to send their children for one to four days each week, depending on the age of the child and parent preference. Morning snacks are provided, and the children eat lunch, brought from home, at noon each day.

For additional information regarding our preschool program, please contact Melanie Fowler, Preschool Director, at preschool@hsv1pres.org or 536-3354 ext. 128.
